Laboratory studies of cosmic dust are urgently needed for the modeling of protoplanetary disk observations. By studying samples of meteorites’ properties at infrared and (sub)millimeter wavelengths, this thesis aims to improve the dust opacity libraries currently available to study protoplanetary disks. This PhD thesis is divided into four projects that include laboratory measurements and applications of these measurements in the infrared and millimeter wavelength range. The thesis will have the following components
– Project 1: Laboratory measurements of meteorite samples in the infrared wavelength range.
– Project 2: Laboratory measurements of meteorite samples in the submillimeter wavelength range.
– Project 3: Application of laboratory measurements at infrared wavelengths to observational data from the James Webb Space Telescope.
– Project 4: Application of laboratory measurements at submillimeter wavelength. to observational data from ALMA.
Type of project: PhD thesis
