[A new network to promote the image of the country has been set. This network consists of\u00a0 stories of chilean people who have challenged stereotypes and have contributed to making a better world. This initiative is part of the current strategy of “Chile Creating Future”. It recognizes and highlights Chilean people who from their diverse backgrounds and areas inspire through their creativity and work others for building a better future for everybody.<\/p>\n

“These 23 men and women, from their different talents and contributions, already have become important actors and true promoters of our country’s image. Their stories are a testimony from the contribution that we do to the World”\u00a0 said Andres Allamand, External Affairs Minister and president of Imagen Chile Directory.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

La selecci\u00f3n de los Chilen@s Creando Futuro se realiz\u00f3 en base a 5 grandes \u00e1reas definidas por Imagen de Chile, claves para la promoci\u00f3n de la imagen pa\u00eds a nivel internacional: Vida y Cultura, Ciencia y Conocimiento, Innovaci\u00f3n y Emprendimiento, Negocios y Exportaciones, Turismo y Deporte.<\/p>\n

Paula Jofr\u00e9, del N\u00facleo de Astronom\u00eda de la Universidad Diego Portales, fue seleccionada dentro de las 5 personas en la categor\u00eda de Ciencia y Conocimiento.<\/p>\n

“It is a true honor to make the people of Chile proud and happy through the science I feel passionate about and love disseminating” states Paula Jofr\u00e9.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

El conocimiento, a diferencia de los bienes materiales, puede ser compartido sin limitaci\u00f3n. Un resultado cient\u00edfico le pertenece a todos. Y en Chile la ciencia y la naturaleza est\u00e1n conectadas. En astronom\u00eda, por ejemplo, nuestros secos desiertos alebergan modernos telescopios para observar el Universo. Eso implica que no solo tenemos un potencial grande para generar conocimiento, pero tambi\u00e9n talento. El N\u00facleo de Astronom\u00eda es uno de estos lugares, ya que Jofr\u00e9 es parte de un grupo de cient\u00edficas y cient\u00edficos que se sinti\u00f3 atra\u00eddo para venir o quedarse ac\u00e1, en Chile, persiguiendo las respuestas a las preguntas m\u00e1s fundamentales en Astronom\u00eda.<\/p>\n
