Investigador posdoctoral

I am a FONDECYT Postdoctoral Fellow at Universidad Diego Portales. My research focuses on astrochemistry, particularly polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and fullerenes, in young and evolved stellar environments. I use infrared spectroscopic observations from facilities such as Spitzer and JWST to study the formation, survival, and chemical processing of carbonaceous molecules and their connection to circumstellar and interstellar environments.

Proyectos

My current work focuses on the detection and interpretation of PAH and fullerene emission in young stars, evolved stars, and star-forming regions using Spitzer and JWST data. These studies aim to understand how carbonaceous molecules respond to different radiation fields and how they trace the physical and chemical evolution of their environments.
I am also starting new projects with Prof. Alice Zurlo on high-contrast imaging using VLT/ERIS data, with a focus on young stellar systems and potential substellar companions. In addition, I work on the kinematics of young and massive stellar clusters using Gaia DR3, with future extensions planned using Gaia DR4.

Puntos destacados
  • I work on infrared astrochemistry, especially PAHs and fullerenes, using Spitzer and JWST observations.
  • My research connects molecular emission features with the evolution of young stars, evolved stars, and their surrounding environments.
  • I am expanding my research into high-contrast imaging with VLT/ERIS data.
  • I also study stellar cluster kinematics using Gaia DR3 and upcoming Gaia DR4 data.
