Joanne Michelle Rojas Molina
PhD student
I am a PhD student working under the supervision of Prof. James Jenkins, whose research focuses on the discovery and characterization of exoplanets using radial velocity observations.
Projects
My research focuses on the search for small, long-period exoplanets using archival data from high-resolution échelle spectrographs. The main goal is to help expand the census of terrestrial planets orbiting stars within 30 parsecs of the Sun. As part of this work, I am particularly focused on mitigating correlated stellar noise in radial velocity data, approaching this challenge through both physical modeling and advanced statistical analysis.
Extracurricular activities
Go to the gym and read books from time to time.
