“The sun goes through activity cycles that last 11 years, cycles we can predict, and so we know that the sun behaves in a way of low, high solar activity and then low solar activity again. In this cycle that began in 2019, we are reaching a peak of solar activity that began in early 2024, which is why we are experiencing great solar activity now. The last major storm occurred on March 23rd, where we had something similar to what we are going to have this weekend and, in fact, the peak of solar activity is expected to be at the end of 2024 and last until the beginning of 2026.”
