I am currently doing my PhD in Astrophysics. My research focuses on the electromagnetic memory effect, which is analogous to the gravitational memory effect.

Current position: PhD student

Projects:

I am particularly focused on electromagnetic memory effect that is an analogue to gravitational memory effect. According to general relativity, gravitational waves are ripples in spacetime caused by the acceleration of massive objects, such as colliding black holes or neutron stars. When these waves pass through a region of spacetime, they can leave behind a permanent deformation or “memory” in the spacetime geometry. This measurement is done with finding the relative displacement of test particles before and after the passage of gravitational waves. EM memory effect is the analogue to this one that measure the kick, which is the change in velocity due to the passage of electromagnetic wave.
