Leopoldo Infante

I am an adjunct professor at UDP, where I advise professors and students in the astrophysics doctoral program. Outside of UDP, I run an international observatory that belongs to the Carnegie Institution for Science.

Current Position: Adjunct Professor

Projects:

I study the first galaxies of the universe, their formation and evolution. This work is part of the cosmological and astrophysical context.

Highlights:

  • Premio Guggenheim, premio del DAAD, beca de la Presidencia de la República.
  • Director at Las Campanas Observatory
  • Director of the Cielos de Chile and Altura Patrimonio foundations. Ranks fourth among the best physicists in Chile and seventh in Latin America.
