Prachi Chavan is from Kolhapur city, India. She has worked in the field of material science & spectroscopic techniques at the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai & at the National Chemical Laboratory, Pune. Simultaneously, she kept emphasizing her deep interest in astrophysics through summer schools and astronomy courses. Her Ph.D. research focuses on investigating optical properties of cosmic dust in realistic environments using spectroscopic measurement methods to interpret astronomical observations of protoplanetary disks and Solar system objects. She likes to conduct science outreach programs and raise awareness about education.
