Thallis Pessi was born in the city of Santiago in the south of Brazil, and did his bachelor's and master's degree in physics at Universidade Federal de Santa Maria, in the city of Santa Maria. He has* worked with cosmic rays, galaxy clusters and the observations of optical optical counterparts of gravitational waves events. Now, he is working with Jose Prieto in the field of transient events. He has interest in how massive stars get to the end of their lives, their energetic explosions and their eventual fate as a supernova.
